FRANK TURNER AND FRIENDS TO PLAY 2000TREES FESTIVAL Music News by Editor - April 22, 20130 2000trees Festival organisers today revealed Frank Turner will return to headline the 2000trees main stage. The announcement was made via video interview between Frank and ‘Trees’ organiser James Scarlett – see http://youtu.be/-THOz97hhOo Says James: “Frank headlined the first ever 2000trees in 2007 so it feels a bit like he’s coming home. To celebrate we asked him to suggest a few acts that he is a fan of and would go down well at Trees – it gives an amazing new dimension to our line up!” Frank Turner says: “I’m very excited about coming back to 2000trees. It was very early days for me when I played the first ever festival in 2007, I remember it was a really exciting, cool, new festival to do and to be involved in, it was a good time. “I’m bringing with me some of my closest, favourite musicians in the world. I’m going to be there for the whole festival and I’m just really looking forward to being part of 2000trees again, it’s a beautiful festival.” The full list of bands announced today includes Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun, TTNG, That Fucking Tank, Emily Barker & the Red Clay Halo, Hold Your Horse Is, Oxygen Thief, The All New Adventures Of Us, 20p & A Packet Of Crisps, Crowns and Fighting with Wire (playing their final ever UK show). James continued: “Frank has had a crazy year – headlining Wembley Arena, performing at the Olympics opening ceremony and touring the world – so this is a rare chance to see him perform at a much more intimate event and get up close and personal. He’s been a big supporter of 2000trees and we’re so excited to have him back”. Frank Turner will perform on the main stage on Friday July 12th. Mystery Jets will headline the same stage on Saturday.
