Lyric Lounge Review is an independent music news and reviews site running nationally but specialising in the East Midlands.

Established in 2005 by Jordan and Tanya Russell, a husband and wife combo whom both have extensive experience in music journalism. They currently have a team of writers extending from Bournemouth to Scotland and everywhere in between. Lyric Lounge has helped launch the careers of talented writers such as Bex Bailey, winner of Young Journalist of the Year.

Lyric Lounge Review writers must adhere to a strict code of conduct embracing positive journalism; if we love it we promote it, if we hate it we don’t write about it – that is not a guarantee of a positive review! We do this because music is subjective and all we intend to offer is the opinion of self-confessed music geeks.

We believe the music press should be a force to get the great bands heard and known rather than trying to tear strips of the rubbish bands – anyone can write gossip columns and slag off a song or a band but not everyone can explain why something is worth listening to.

Lyric Lounge’s dedication to good, honest reviews and meaningful articles has helped them establish a loyal readership of over 75,000 readers per month.

Lyric Lounge has a strong ethos of taking music journalism back to being about the musicians; we are committed to giving readers what they want – honest reviews and news about the artist they love.

We do not believe that the journalist is bigger than the act, and we do not hide behind vacuous reviews which tell the reader nothing about the music.
