WET NUNS ‘Why You So Cold’ Single Review

‘Why You So Cold‘ is the brand new single from Sheffield‘s two-peice punkers: Wet Nuns.

Following the two barnstormer singles previously released by Wet Nuns, they sure have a lot to live up to. ‘Throttle’ and ‘Heavens Below’ both displayed the bands fantastic ability to create massive sludgey tunes, and all from just two human beings and their instruments. ‘Why You So Cold‘, perhaps purposely, takes a step away from this mass of sludge and punk and rings out with a slightly cleaner sound.

The twangy intro is summoned up straight from the Mississippi floodplains as Wet Nuns proudly display their (musical) redneck tendencies. The whiskey soaked intro slowly develops into a jig and then further into the riotous pinnacle of the chorus line. Metallic sounding guitars clash against the raw drum crash beautifully, and the vocals have just enough gruff to them to make them sound authentic!

‘Why You So Cold‘ adds another string to  the Wet Nuns bow and is yet another track from the band that will have the burliest of men dancing round their man-bags. How do they do it?

‘Why You So Cold‘ is out on September 10th on 7″ and Download.

Catch them on tour too…dates here!
