FolkEast is all about coming together for three days to fill your boots with music, food, ale, art, family and friends in the glorious parkland of Glemham Hall.
The line-up is hand-picked from first class national, international and local folk artists, the food and ale locally sourced and fairly priced. With the feel of a large village fete and set amidst a Constable-esque landscape, there is plenty to sing and to dance about.
The Imagined Village Reunion headline Friday with a special festival performance with Billy Bragg, Martin and Eliza Carthy, Simon Emmerson and Johnny Kalsi. The weekend celebrations continue with Kate Rusby, The Unthanks, festival patrons The Young’uns, the Gigspanner Big Band and author Raynor Winn, Spiers and Boden, Knight and Spiers, Talisk, Katherine Priddy, Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys to name but a few.
There are workshops for all ages, demonstrations, ceilidhs, dance sides, art, craft and instrument makers, talks, walks, yoga, storytelling and the FolkEast book club. All tickets (weekend, day, camping) are available from the website and there is a free to use shuttle bus service from Wickham Market station for those travelling by train.
It’s time to celebrate!
