Wychwood Festival just around the corner…

Whychwood-Festival-7

Following the news that Bill Bailey, Ms. Dynamite and Peter Hook & The Light will be featuring at Wychwood Festival 2016; organisers have revealed a jam-packed line-up for one of Britain’s most popular family festival.

Boasting a 33-year career and fronted by the imitable Mike Scott, the much-loved blues band, The Waterboys, will be headlining the stage on Friday night; while Scot rockers, Idlewild, will also make a welcome addition to the line-up, fresh off the back of its critically acclaimed album, Everything Ever Written.

Meanwhile, The Big Top will once again be curated by London-based promoter Smashing Blouse, which is setting the bar high with a mix of up-and-coming and established talents, including pop purveyors Haelos; instrumental ‘geniuses’ Tiger Club; as well as Black Honey, Get Inuit and Folk On.

Also set to delight festival-goers will be British DJ, Craig Charles; eccentric band, Matt Berry and the Maypoles; as well as Thrill Collins, Keston Kobblers, Ooks of Hazard and much more.

Wychwood’s renowned children’s programme will be launched by the BAFTA Award-winning children’s entertainer, Justin Fletcher, best known as Mr Tumble, set to deliver an unmissable main stage performance.

What’s more, fans of funny won’t be disappointed, with a host of comedians set to join the quirky funnyman, Bill Bailey, at the festival, including Gary Delaney, Tiernan Douieb, Pun Man, George Rigden, and Tim Goodings, with many more acts yet to be announced.

Praised as a ‘laid-back family festival in a lovely location,’ and ‘the best festival for families,’ this is an annual highlight on the Gloucestershire calendar time and again, with 2016 set to be even bigger and better.

Wychwood Festival will take to Cheltenham Racecourse over the weekend of Friday 3 May to Sunday 5 June 2016, with camping available for those staying the full three-days.

Weekend tickets cost £135; £110 for concessions; £65 to 10 to 15-year-olds; £25 for five to nine-year-olds; and are free of charge for children under five, while day tickets cost from £45, £34 for concessions and from £12 for children.
