Harbor Records is pleased to announce that Backslashes And Bad Ideas’s label debut will be entitled There’s No Place Like Home and that it will be released November 12th. Guitarist Nick DePalo had this to say on the EP, “As a band we are extremely proud of this finished product. There’s No Place Like Home is the most natural step forward we could have taken together. We literally wrote every bit of it together, expanding from one idea to another in a live setting. There really wasn’t any preconceived notion of how we wanted this record or each song to sound. We just wanted to give it all we had and blow everyone’s expectations out of the water, and still be ourselves”

There’s No Place Like Home will be the follow up to last year’s critically acclaimed Nothing Left To Give EP. The first single was “Defend Josh’s Life Choices,” which features Fred Mascherino (ex-Taking Back Sunday, The Color Fred, Terrible Things) has already received comparisons to The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, and Into It Over It while garnering high praise. “No Matter What Happens, Don’t Ask Who” will be the second single and will be released in all digital and mobile stores come October 22nd.

Backslashes and Bad Ideas is not just another generic pop punk outfit, they are neither polished nor typical, and they proudly separate themselves from the constant cookie-cutter standard. Their circuit began with just four friends humbly making music. They wrote together inspired by a range of artists, from scene veterans such as Taking Back Sunday and Brand New, to rising talent like The Dangerous Summer and The Wonder Years. Over two years in the making, the band has grown together not only in number, but in sound and purpose. They strive to wrought passionate, driving, and heartfelt music that can transcend all listeners.

In June 2012, the band began recording their debut EP Nothing Left To Give with producer Joe Della’quila (Anthony Green, Good Old War) at Exeter Studios in NJ. After a successful digital release on August 4th, 2012, the band received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and support, as well as favorable reviews from a variety of outlets. Justin Sarachik (Broken Records Magazine) called the EP “emotionally driven, distinct and clearly determined,” while Festivalblog reviewed the record as “an infectious release.”

Over this past year alone, the band has traversed the east coast, playing shows near and far while sharing stage with national touring bands such as Major League, With The Punches, Half Hearted Hero, and Young Statues. Backslashes And Bad Ideas thrive to deliver a electric, intimate, and tightly crafted performance no matter what the bill, venue, or crowd and looks forward to another exciting year of traveling, performing, growing, and sharing their brand of passionate, honest, and heartfelt pop punk.
