Robbie Boyd – Spring Generation EP – Review

So winter is coming. The dark nights are descending and lyric lounge has had to wave a regretful farewell to the summer, or so we thought until we received Robbie Boyd‘s new EP, Spring Generation.

Summer tinged slice of indie pop, When I Believe had us smiling and singing along throughout its upbeat and catchy chorus. Spring Generation is an elegant ode to individually with a folky melody; the bouncy, driving rhythm is reminiscent of Mumford and sons with a happier go lucky streak. The Lean is a very British ballad, an acoustic harmony with jangling guitar and foot tapping back beat.

In the final track, Unlock The Key, the London troubadour Robbie Boyd, showcases his heartfelt vocals against a tapestry of traditional finger picked tune that is infused with a lovely lyrical lullaby.

A beautiful EP that will soon see you believing in Boyd.

You will like this if you like Jack Penate or Bob Dylan.
