Miss Li – My heart goes boom. Single Review

When I was asked to review ‘my heart goes boom’ the new single from Swedish Miss Li, I was both eager and hopeful as she had been described as indie retro which is surely a combination of my two favourite things.

From the off, with the Rockabilly retro bests and Johnny Cash -esque thumping guitar riff this is looking promising.

Miss Li’s sound has a Paloma Faith style quality and I imagine from the sound of this song that Miss Li herself is a very stylish lady indeed.

Both the subject matter and the sound of the song are true to their retro description, it is simplistic but effective  bit this song does not need to be complicated to be enjoyed.  The thumping of the background  ‘boom-chukka-boom’ style beat drawing you into the song further by its hypnotic heartbeat like sound.

With vintage and retro being on trend at the moment Miss Li may have timed it just right with this track. It surely won’t be long before everyone knows her name.
