Introducing: FLORIAN LUNAIRE – intelligent, piano led, pop noir.

The most striking thing about Florian Lunaire, is how difficult it is to place him. Born from a French mother and a Tibetan father. His first gig took place at the Tate Britain with the Wowow arts collective. His lyrical world is riddled with complex, dark, surreal, poetic and modern imagery.

Adding to his elusive, distinctive character, he is also taking a new approach to releasing music — writing and recording a collection of songs every season. The releases will be available digitally and compiled into a limited edition album at the end of the year. He aims to continue the process throughout his ambitious career.“So hopefully by the end of my life the whole thing will read like some form of diary.”

His song go from the gruff, almost grungy tones of The Pixies (Out Of Nappa), to the classical virtuosity of Joanna Neswom or Camille (Four Darks, The Persistence Of memory) via the foot-stomping, hand-clapping sweetness of a feel-good hit of the summer (Summering Here).

His true skill however, is to keep all his masterfully crafted pieces encapsulated within the perfect pop format.

THERE WILL BE ANNOUNCEMENTS SOON ON DETAILS OF HIS WINTER 2011 AND SPRING 2012 EPs

“Lunaire sings from experience. Everything resonates with great expression” Drowned In Sound

“From the outset Lunaire sounds like an interesting figure; his delicate and idiosyncratic singing and skills with piano, bass, organ and melodica stake out a sound musical basis.” The FourOhFive

The piano is upbeat and enthusiastic… melodies are all joyful and happy… dare to say it sounds like the work of Neil Hannon at his most cheery.” For Folks Sake
