This Saturday 7th June, Dubrek Studios in Derby becomes the loudest, proudest place in the UK for One Saturday In; an all-day event pulsing with music, poetry and politics in the name of solidarity not charity. With doors opening at 12:30pm and an unmissable lineup across the afternoon and evening, it’s the kind of gathering that reminds you exactly what grassroots energy feels like.
Headlining the event are some of the UK’s most stirring and defiant voices. Joe Solo brings his barnstorming blend of folk-punk and fierce love for working class history. Attila the Stockbroker, a punk poetry pioneer since the 1980s, will have the room rallying with his rapid-fire rhymes and radical wit. Luddite upstarts Matt Johnson and Jonny Wallis crank the volume, while spoken word powerhouses like Sophie Sparham and Janine Booth turn truth into lyrical artillery.
There’s no filler here — the full roster is packed with artists who believe in what they sing. Rob Stamper, Mary Moden Band, Just Fran, Matt Hill, Joe Zux, Bearded Tit and more ensure this is a DIY revolution from start to finish. It’s raw, it’s real, and it matters.
Tickets are just £15 via WeGotTickets — search “One Saturday In 2025”. All proceeds go to supporting DRS (Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity), with a clear message: we shall overcome, solidarity not charity.
This is more than a gig. It’s a call to action with a backbeat. It’s a space where art and activism meet, and everyone’s invited. If you’ve got heart, you’ve got a place at One Saturday In.
