Shiiine On: Birmingham: Saturday September 8th 2018

Shiiine On launch a new one day festival at Birmingham O2 Academy on Saturday 8thSeptember 2018. The incredible line-up includes more than 20 Iconic bands and an official Hacienda afterparty. Orbital, Shed Seven Happy Mondays & Julian Cope headline joined by a stellar supporting cast.

The all-day event will be headlined by dance pioneers Orbital who are set to mark their 30thyear in music in style. Renowned for their headline slots at Glastonbury amongst others, they will perform their full festival show in Birmingham.

Resurrected indie heroes Shed Seven who are riding high on the success of their recent top ten album ‘Instant Pleasures’, and Happy Mondayswho after 30 years in the business remain one of the most important bands around also play the Main Stage.

Main Stage also features performances by two previous headliners of the Shiiine On Weekender– Embrace who are celebrating a top 5 album with ‘Love Is A Basic Need’ and Liverpool legends Cast.

Also playing the Main Stage is Glasvegas, whowill perform a special anniversary show celebrating ten years since the release of their debut self-titled album.

Academy 2 is headlined by Julian Cope and Revered & The Makers. Also playing we have The Wedding Present, Dreadzone, Jim Bob (Carter USM), Abdoujaparov and a rare hometown acoustic set from Jonn & Rat (Neds Atomic Dustbin).

Completing an amazing day of music, The Academy 3 features A Certain Ratio, Bentley Rhythm Ace, The Stairs, The Membranes and aThousand Yard Stare. Local bands Ivory Wave and Psyence complete the lineup.

Ticket prices include free entry to two special aftershow parties. The Hacienda will descend on Birmingham with Todd Terry headlining a superb line up alongside Marshall Jefferson and Jon Dasilva.

In O2 Academy2 there will be DJ sets from, BBC Music’s Steve Lamcaq and Star Shaped who bring us their Britpop disco. They will be joined by Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Cradock.
