LAUGHTER IN RETFORD Comedy News by Editor - March 7, 20180 Funhouse Comedy Club is back at the Gate Inn, Sutton cum Lound near Retford on Sunday April 1st for more fun and laughter. Headlining is the congenial and unassuming Mark Simmons who has supported Seann Walsh and Rob Beckett on tour. With his clever one-liners, amusingly intelligent material and warm disposition he keeps the crowd hanging on to every word. Supporting will be intrinsically funny Lloyd Griffith who has supported Jack Whitehall on tour. As a choirboy in Grimsby he sang on ‘The National Lottery, with Dudley Moore who played the piano. And then later in life sang backing vocals on a Bee Gees album. A professional singer but always a natural jester he turned to stand-up and with his down-to-earth cynicism and lively attitude he enthralls his audience. Completing the line-up is Discount Comedy Checkout with their creative, quick and quirky improv, they create funny and fantastic characters at a moment’s notice with ideas thrown at them by their audience.
