If you are looking to start your with festival fun in a friendly environment with fantastic acts from the rock and blues genre, then you need to buy yourself a ticket to Butins’ Rock and Blues Festival.
Having been to several of Butlins’ specialist music weekends, we are already anticipating a brilliant weekend in a few weeks time. With many additional amenities such as the swimming pool, cinema, fun arcades and a variety of restaurants, as well as access to bracing walks on the beach, there is plenty to do between the music that gives this festival a real holiday feel, but the most important part of the experience is being able to see so many great acts in the two main music arenas.
We are incredibly excited about headline act Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, whose live performances always have us dancing and singing along to their memorable melodies. The Rock Stage is certainly going to the place to be this January with Leafhound and The Helen Harvey Band promising to keep us dancing late into the night and a whole host of other bands ensuring that there is certainly something for everyone to air guitar along to.
Brilliant blues acts make up the other half of this riff laden revelry, with The Blues Band, Marcia Ball and Lil Jimmy Reed being just some of the plethora of performers on offer throughout the weekend, as well as Skegness’ very own Blues Harp Explosion helping to ensure that the festival will definitely go off with a bang!
There is also the opportunity to see some of the best up and coming band’s in the blues genre on the new bands’ stage, ensuring that you can watch marvellous music from midday to midnight if you so desire.
We would certainly recommend the premium food option as it offers a wide variety of choice, including a ridiculously huge breakfast menu and a large selection of options for your evening meal. The food that we had on our last music weekend at Butlins was fantastic, with lots of choice even though we are both vegetarians.
It is difficult to express quite how lovely an experience these music weekends have been. The audiences range from people who are huge fans of the genre on offer to others who just want to have an enjoyable, child-free weekend with great gig atmospheres throughout the day. If you love music, you will definitely love the Rock and Blues Festival at Butlins, Skegness. Come and join us! We’ll be up at the front dancing.
The Great British Rock and Blues Festival Weekend is held at Butlins, Skegness from Friday 20th January 2017 to Monday 23rd January 2017 and prices start at £99, including accommodation.
