Slash Opens Door to Guns N’ Roses Reunion

In a summer of feuds between artists comes positive news: After years of bad blood, Slash and Axl Rose are reportedly on friendly terms again. Slash, who left Guns N’ Roses in 1996, delivered the update on their relationship in an interview with Sweden’s Aftonbladet.

“It was probably way overdue, you know,” Slash is heard saying in the new clip. “But it’s, you know, it’s very cool at this point. You know, let some of that, sort of, negative … dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long.”

Although Slash seems willing to talk about his former bandmate, he’s not addressing any new queries about whether there will be a reunion of the classic Guns N’ Roses lineup. When asked about the possibility on a CBS This Morning appearance in May 2015, he said it “might be fun at some point to try and do that” — but this time, he brushes off the question.

“Let’s get off the subject, ’cause, you know, that’s an old one,” he says.
In May, Slash did hint that he was getting along better with Axl, saying, “We don’t have all those issues anymore. There’s not a lot of controversy. It’s something that’s more perpetuated by the media than anything.”
