Tweak Bird – “The Weight” – Review

Tweak Bird are back with another stoner psychedelic taster ahead of the release of their new mini-album.

The Weight” is one of 7 new tracks from their brand new EP entitled ‘Undercover Crops’.  Growing up in Southern Illinois, brothers Caleb and Ashton Bird have been crafting loud, heavy music for over a decade and “The Weight” clearly does not deviate from the proven formula.

Woven together at the songs core are ponderous drums, fuzzy boisterous guitars and spacey vocal melodies. As the raw stoner rock ingredient and catchy melodies collide they fuse together to create bursts of sheer aural delight.

‘The Weight’ captures their live intensity perfectly and showcases the experimental psych- infused rock the band does so well to perform. Lasting only 2.12 seconds the prog element of the song remains tucked away, yet the stoner aspect oozes out in abundance as the songs energy and groove sucks you in to their world. Kaleidoscopically sci-fi the vocals of the song remain transfixed within your head and as the songs breakdown comes to a close, so does the song leaving you frothing for more.

Tweak Bird’sThe Weight” is a brilliant little song that will be entering my playlist right away.
