With an extensive promo campaign and a fan base to match, the band have finally released their new album ‘You are expendable’. The boys are already familiar with what makes a good industrial album. With hypnotic beats and gut wrenching vocals, each track is a battle cry breaking down the walls of conformity. With well known tracks such as ‘My Burning rage’, ‘I am Destroyer’ and ‘Still not dead’ re-made for this epic release with additional help from MIXE1, this album has a lot of potential for the bands’ future.
Tracks like ’Tonight’ and the releases finale ’A faint glimmer of hope’ hold a lot of melody that will transfer well onto the live stage, where as songs like ’Occupy everything’ show the bands’ darkest side with an ear shattering bass line. With no rest between songs the album is a constant onslaught of harsh relentless punches that beat your senses into submission.
As a bonus, the album unofficially comes to a close with 2 bonus remixes by The.Invalid and MIXE1. The first, ‘I am destroyer’ slows the beat, but puts more note onto it to show the vocals room to start a fight with itself. ‘My burning rage’s mix however takes a different note, with a reverb melody and guitars to give an industrial metal vibe. The vocals don’t seem to fit very well with the re-version however, as some of the lyrics are whispered in rage and distract from the full form of the track.
The albums only draw back is it’s production value. The vocals are sometimes lost in layers of synth and distortion and some of the melodies are behind an overbearing beat. The complete release is a reminder to watch this band live as to break free the constrictions of the studio and listen to the songs as they should be. The build up to this LP has been worth the wait, with the future in tact and a host of new fans to bring revolution to a formulaic genre.
