Bowling for Soup – Rock City – October 25th 2012

Thundering straight into ‘My Hometown ‘ Texan Punk Pretenders Bowling for Soup make yet another triumphant visit to Rock City bringing their own brand of Thrashy rock to their ever enthusiastic and loyal fans at Nottingham’s Rock City venue.

More than just going through the motions and robotically playing the songs the thing that makes Bowling for Soup so popular with their audience is their light hearted banter with the crowd and there’s plenty of that to be had tonight with Lead Singer Jaret instigating much of the comedic twoing and froing and the crowd don’t seem to mind a bit even if at times it seems more talk than music!

They reward the crowds enthusiasm by playing a hit laden set, including the ever infectious 2002 hit single ‘Girl All the Bad Guys Want’ , ‘Punk Rock 101′ and even treat the crowd to their own inimitable version of the popular Fountains of Wayne track ‘Stacy’s Mom’ which has the crowd bouncing along with fervour.

It’s obvious that the band enjoy their shows at Rock City almost as much as the fans enjoy seeing them and as this mutual appreciation society continues year after year it’s obvious that it won’t be long before they are back again delivering the goods.
