VIOLET announce new vocalist and hit the road this September

Seven piece alt-rockers VIOLET are very excited to announce that Jordan Samuel has joined the band on vocals, replacing Jonny Nelson who left the band in July. Jordan brings a fresh sound with a soulful feel to the mix and they are all very excited about how the new material is taking shape.

Liam Westnidge (Bass) explains: “We are really happy to announce that our good friend Jordan Samuel will be joining us as our new vocalist. We have known jordan for a couple of years now and have no doubt that he will be a great addition to violets sound & future. We are really looking forward to progress as a band and see what we can create together. Jordan brings a different feel to our music but without losing anything we already have. He’s a positive, friendly guy and we work really well with him. We couldn’t be happier as a band. We have already been working on new songs with him and trying out different influences. We feel happy to progress to the next chapter with Jordan and really looking forward to writing this album with him.”
Jordan comments on joining the band and what he brings to the table: “It’s a dream to have been given the opportunity to join violet, they’re the best guys and make music that in my opinion is very unique especially in the UK at the moment. Me and the guys were fairly good friends through playing shows together In my previous band Empires so its felt quite natural coming aboard quite quickly. A lot of discussions between myself and the guys early on brought to light the persuasion of Violet wanting a new feel as a band, with a more rnb feel mixed in with the existing sound which suited me perfectly being influenced by artists like Robin thicke, The Weekend, Frank Ocean, and probably the biggest, Michael Jackson. I understand a lot of fans are going to be a bit wary with the change but all I can hope is that people give the new song a listen from a blank perspective and not compare it with the brightside EP too much, because the band itself is evolving and moving forward, and this new song is a clear indication of our intent and Kevin at anemic studios has again exceeded all expectations with the execution of the recording. We all live for this and share that bond in everything we do, I can speak for the other guys when I say we want everyone to be on board with us on this next step as they have been prior to this, as they are are what keeps it going. It’s definitely a very exciting and positive atmosphere to be in at the moment and I’m really stoked for the upcoming shows, the new album and violets future.”
VIOLET’s diverse sound stems from initial influences like Emarosa, Dance Gavin Dance and Pierce The Veil, but over time a wide range of musical styles have become a source of inspiration, ranging from movie soundtracks to RnB. With Jordan on board, the diversity will only get wider creating something truly unique.
VIOLET released their debut EP “The Brightside” on Small Town Records earlier this year to great acclaim and have been touring the UK constantly with the likes of The Elijah, Lights out Dresden, Attention Thieves, As Cities Burn and Stars Of The Search Party, as well as appearing at Hit The Deck festival.
