BUSH ‘Baby Come Home’ Single/Video Music Reviews by Editor - May 9, 20120 Shepherds Bush post-grunge outfit ‘Bush’ reunited after an eight year break back in 2010. One of the UK’s best musical exports to America in the nineties, Bush got quite a bit of stick from the press on these shores. Their huge success in the States, particularly for #1 album ‘Razorblade Suitcase’ left their UK fame very much over-shadowed. Endless articles tackled the age old question of why Bush weren’t big in their home country. Thing is, I was into Bush and I knew plenty of other people who were too! I mean we all know who the band is don’t we? They must have made some impact, just not as much as they did in the USA. A video for new single ‘Baby Come Home’ has just hit the web. Taken from the comeback album ‘The Sea of Memories’, it is a typical Bush rocker, and will take many of a certain generation back to the good old nineties… when guitar music was king. The song certainly sounds as though it could have been born in the nineties. Bush certainly know what fans want from them in this day and age. We don’t want anything revamped or updated or any radical shift in styles. We want to be reminded why this reunion was a good idea in the first place. Rossdale’s vocals haven’t lost any of their haunting eerie quality and the “baby come home again” chorus and the “all for your love” slow part midway through the track demonstrate this perfectly. Time has been good to them too. Much of the latest video is performance footage and none of the band members look to have aged much at all. Gavin does look at bit Van Dam when he lets his hair down though! If the whole Bush reunion has passed you by so far, it may well be worth checking out this video. It’s certainly up there with the majority of the Bush back-catalogue and it may just prompt you to dust those old CDs off this weekend.
