Irish traditional group The Mary Wallopers have kicked off their largest tour to date with an energetic performance at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh. Known for generating a passionate following, the six-piece band blends traditional instrumentation such as the banjo and tin whistle with a politically astute, spit-and-sawdust approach.
During the Edinburgh concert, the audience engaged in rowdy celebrations, including crowd surfing and spilled drinks, as the group performed their new track 'Seán na Sagart'. The song reimagines a grim historical tale about an early 18th-century hitman who targeted priests, transforming the subject matter into an upbeat musical number delivered with high energy.
