Heartfelt Folk-Punk arrives in the UK via Portugal

We Bless This Mess is a project created by the musician and tattoo artist Nelson Graf Reis, a young man moved through his passions and beliefs, arriving in the UK for exclusive shows in May 2017.

We Bless This Mess arose from the need to explore the premise “less is more” and subsequently, the desire to externalize the positivity to the world – “We breathe, we are alive. This is the greatest gift and it’s so simple.”Nelson explains.

In late 2014, a trip to Brazil by the well travelled Reis resulted in the birth and recording of the debut EP “Love and Thrive” at FM2 Audio Studios. Since the project’s inception, songsmith Nelson has proven to be a driving force of creativity. In the first year We Bless This Mess performed 49 dates, both solo and with band across Portugal, Germany and England to promote the folk-punk future anthems: “Love and Thrive” and “Contemplate”.

Providing an outlet for his troughs of creativity, Nelson and brother Marcelo founded the independent record label“Oh Lee Records” in 2016, supporting several other musical projects with releases and collaborative tours with other folk-punk and country rock singer-songwriters across Europe. Today, Oh Lee Records’ team provides industry services including recording, bookings, PR and publishing in collaboration with Lusitanian Agency

With the sudden growth of the “Why Portugal” movement, a platform to export national musicians, We Bless This Mess have exploded across festival line-ups across Europe playing Reeperbahn Festival, Germany and Eurosonic Noorderslag (Netherlands representing Portugal, the focus county for the festival. The talented one-man army will be appearing at The Great Escape, UK in 2017 with multiple releases and tours lined up throughout the year.
