Funke and two toned baby encapsulates the arts of dance, techno and electronica in an distinct way creating a ‘funke-y’ feet aching beat. Kicking off the 7th night of his album tour with ‘Dance Until You Drop’ throwing the audience in the deep end with his chaotic rhythmic beat, prompting the audience to do exactly what it says on the tin. Equally mesmerising as the music itself, the collaboration of hand and feet movements create his unique style, which is nothing short of extraordinary.
Following this, the song ‘Fortuna’ allowed him to open up about issues in his personal life, breaking the barrier between audience and performer. His smooth transition back from a serious to energetic tone was embraced by the crowd instigated by the song ‘Doppelgänger’ which got people enthusiastic once more.
With chants from the crowd, the expectation of his signature finale ‘Not Enough Bonobo’ was fulfilled and received through the echoes of the chorus. In my opinion, the collective showmanship was reflected within the venue creating an all-round quality night.
